The standard excursion is a 45-minute round trip through 2,500 acres of rolling Amish countryside. You will pass working farms, horse-drawn buggies, and scenic landscapes that feel untouched by time. Choose from several accommodation levels — open-air cars for fresh breezes and unobstructed views, restored Victorian coach cars heated by potbelly stoves in cooler weather, climate-controlled dining cars with freshly prepared meals, and first-class parlor and lounge cars for a premium experience.

Beyond the standard train ride, Strasburg Railroad hosts a calendar of special events throughout the year. The Easter Bunny Train, wine and cheese evenings, dinner on the rails, and the elegant Edwardian-themed Elegant Express each offer a different flavor of the railroad experience. The railroad sits in the heart of Lancaster's attraction corridor — Sight & Sound Theatres, Kitchen Kettle Village, and Dutch Wonderland are all nearby, so you can easily build a full day trip. The Strasburg area is also home to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania directly across the street.
