Michaux State Forest spans 93,000 acres of pristine Pennsylvania wilderness - one of the largest state forests in the Commonwealth. It's home to 40+ miles of ATV trails, 132 miles of snowmobile trails, the famous Appalachian Trail, world-class trout streams, and some of the most beautiful mountain scenery on the East Coast.

Most people who want to experience Michaux have limited options: primitive camping with no amenities, or campgrounds outside the forest boundary that claim to be "near Michaux." Neither gives you what you really want - the forest experience WITH modern comfort.

Pine Ridge Campground is different. We're not near Michaux State Forest. We're not beside it. We're actually LOCATED WITHIN IT, at 2,050 feet elevation. When you camp at Pine Ridge, you're camping in Michaux with full hookups, fiber WiFi, a pool, and a community of fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

What Campers Say

We looked for years for a campground actually IN Michaux. Everything was either primitive or claimed to be "nearby" but wasn't. Pine Ridge is the real deal - we're in the forest with full hookups. Best of both worlds.

The AT runs right through here. I can hike a section before breakfast. At 2,050 feet, it's 10-15 degrees cooler than home. This is what camping should be.
