When winter transforms Michaux State Forest into a snow-covered wonderland, the snowmobile trails come alive. With 132 miles of designated routes, this is one of Pennsylvania's most extensive snowmobile trail systems, and it's right in Pine Ridge's backyard.

The trail network winds through diverse landscapes including dense evergreen forests, open meadows, and mountain ridges with panoramic winter views. Trails connect to the ATV system and utilize additional forest roads, creating a vast network for winter exploration.

Trail conditions depend on natural snowfall, and the best riding typically occurs from January through March when accumulation is sufficient. The DCNR monitors conditions and posts updates to help riders plan their trips. When the snow flies, Pine Ridge's heated bathhouse and cozy pavilion make the perfect place to warm up after a day on the trails.

Many of our seasonal campers winterize their sites but return for weekend snowmobile trips, using Pine Ridge as their winter adventure base. The combination of mountain snow conditions and modern campground facilities creates an unbeatable snowmobile camping experience.
