Tröegs Independent Brewing has been crafting beer in central Pennsylvania since 1997, and their Hershey taproom is one of the best brewery experiences within reach of Pine Ridge Campground. Founded by brothers John and Chris Trogner, Tröegs operates independently with a focus on quality ingredients, experimental brewing, and community.

The brewery's Hershey location sits on East Hershey Park Drive and features an open tasting room with concession-style service, an expansive scratch-made food menu, and a heated outdoor beer garden. Over 20 beers rotate on tap including year-round favorites like Perpetual IPA — the best-selling IPA in Pennsylvania — along with seasonal releases like Nugget Nectar, Mad Elf, and the constantly rotating Scratch Series of small-batch experimental brews.

Guided brewery tours walk visitors through the production floor, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the brewhouse, fermentation tanks, and packaging line. The tour has been called the best brewery tour in America, and all participants must be 21 or older. The scratch kitchen takes the same craft approach to food, baking bread in-house and sourcing ingredients from local Pennsylvania farms. Over 225,000 pounds of local grain, honey, and fruit go into their beers each year.

The tasting room is open daily — Monday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 9 PM, Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 9 PM. Seating is first-come, first-served with no reservations needed. Children are welcome, and pets are allowed in the covered beer garden.

Pine Ridge campers looking for a craft beer day trip can pair Tröegs with a visit to adjacent Hersheypark or Chocolate World. With evening hours extending to 9 or 10 PM, it also works as a dinner stop on the way back from a full day in the Hershey area.
