About Community Campfire
There's something magical about gathering around a fire under a canopy of stars. At Pine Ridge Campground, our community fire pit brings that magic to life every evening, creating the quintessential camping experience at 2,050 feet in the Michaux mountains.
The community campfire is more than just a fire pit—it's where campground stories are born. Veterans share tales of seasons past, kids toast marshmallows for their first s'mores, and newcomers quickly become friends in the flickering firelight. The cool mountain air at our elevation makes gathering around the warmth especially enjoyable, even on summer evenings.
Positioned away from the hustle of the main campground areas, the fire pit offers a peaceful retreat for those who love the traditional camping experience. The surrounding seating accommodates groups large and small, and the lack of light pollution at our mountain location means incredible stargazing opportunities on clear nights.
Firewood is available for purchase at the camp office, and the fire pit is maintained for safe, enjoyable use throughout the season. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, winding down after a day of adventure, or simply enjoying the company of fellow campers, the community fire pit is waiting.
